How Therapy Helps
We work collaboratively on safety, on understanding what’s driving the pain, and on building skills to cope differently. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in particular is well-supported for reducing self-harm and suicidal urges by teaching distress tolerance and emotion-regulation skills. We also treat the underlying depression, trauma, or anxiety that often fuels these thoughts.
