Substance Use & Addiction Therapy in Lehi, Utah
Drug and alcohol struggles aren’t a character flaw — they’re something we treat. At Therapy Utah, our licensed therapists help you understand what’s driving the use, build real recovery skills, and reclaim a life that doesn’t revolve around the next drink or dose.
Recovery built around the whole person
Whether you’re questioning your relationship with alcohol or deep in a struggle with drugs, you don’t have to white-knuckle your way through it alone.
We don’t shame people into sobriety. Addiction almost always sits on top of something — trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, or pain you’ve been trying to outrun — and lasting recovery means treating the root, not just the behavior. When you reach out, we schedule an intake and full assessment, then match you with the therapist whose experience and style fit you best. Online sessions are available too.
Because substance use rarely stands alone, we treat the whole picture. If trauma is part of your story, explore our trauma therapy; if relationships have been strained, couples counseling and family therapy can help everyone heal.

How we help
Our methods are evidence-based and matched to your needs.
Specialized substance-use care
Vincent Vargas, a Substance Use Disorder Counselor (SUDC) and retired Army veteran in recovery himself, brings firsthand understanding to his work with veterans and first responders facing addiction.
Skills, motivation & relapse prevention
DBT, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing help you manage cravings, navigate triggers, and strengthen your own reasons for change — the heart of relapse prevention.
Healing the roots
Therapists like Mary Marsh use EMDR to process the trauma and pain underneath the use, so recovery is built on healing rather than willpower alone.

Book your intakeSubstance use therapy FAQ
A few of the questions we hear most often.
Do I have to be ready to quit completely to come in?
No. Many people start therapy while they’re still unsure about change. Motivational Interviewing meets you exactly there and helps you sort out what you want — without pressure or shame.
Do you provide detox or medical treatment?
We provide outpatient therapy, not medical detox. If you need medically supervised withdrawal, we’ll help you understand your options and can coordinate with the right care, then support the deeper recovery work alongside or afterward.
What if I relapse?
Relapse is often part of recovery, not a failure. We treat it as information — a chance to understand a trigger and strengthen your plan — not a reason for shame.
Do you work with veterans and first responders?
Yes. Vincent Vargas specializes in supporting veterans and first responders with substance use and trauma, drawing on his own military service and recovery.
How much does therapy cost?
Therapy Utah is private-pay. The initial intake and assessment is $150, and ongoing sessions are $125–$200 depending on the therapist you match with.
