Online Therapy in Utah

Online Therapy in Utah, From Wherever You Are

Life doesn’t always leave room for an office visit. Our licensed Utah therapists offer secure, HIPAA-compliant video sessions so you can get real, evidence-based care from home, work, or wherever you feel most comfortable — anywhere in Utah.

Same quality care, no commute required

Online therapy at Therapy Utah is delivered by the same licensed clinicians who see clients in our Lehi office — just over a secure video connection instead of across a desk.

Whether you’re in Lehi, St. George, Logan, or anywhere in between, distance shouldn’t stand between you and support. Our remote sessions run through TherapyPortal’s secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform, so you get the same depth of care, the same evidence-based approaches, and the same therapist relationship you’d have in person — without the drive.

When you reach out, we schedule an intake and full assessment (online or in-office, your choice), then match you with the therapist whose approach fits you best. Many of our therapists see clients by video every week, covering everything from individual therapy to couples counseling to sex addiction and betrayal trauma recovery.

Who online therapy is a good fit for

You don’t have to have a specific reason to choose telehealth — but these are some of the clients who love it most.

  • Busy parents and professionals fitting sessions around work or kids
  • Rural and small-town Utah residents far from our Lehi office
  • College students at BYU, UVU, the U, or elsewhere in the state
  • New parents or anyone managing a health issue that makes travel hard
  • Clients who feel more open talking from a familiar, private space
  • Frequent travelers who don’t want to pause their care
  • Clients who started in-office and want flexibility during busy seasons
  • Anyone who simply prefers the privacy and comfort of home

What you can do online

Most of what we offer in the office, we also offer by video.

Individual Therapy

One-on-one support for anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, and life transitions — from wherever you’re most comfortable talking.

Couples & Family Therapy

Video sessions work well for couples and families, including partners who split time between cities or want to meet from separate rooms.

Teen & Young Adult Therapy

Many teens and young adults feel more at ease opening up on camera from their own room than in an unfamiliar office.

Sex Addiction & Betrayal Trauma Care

Our LIFT program therapists offer confidential, private video sessions for both addiction recovery and betrayal trauma support.

How online sessions work

Getting started is simple, and you’ll always know what to expect before your first session.

1

Reach out

Book online or call or text us at 385-254-3522. Let us know you’d like to meet by video and we’ll take it from there.

2

Complete your intake

You’ll do a 50–60 minute intake and assessment for $150, online or in-office, so we can match you with the right therapist.

3

Get matched and log on

We pair you with a therapist who fits your needs. You’ll get a secure video link before each session — sessions are $125–$200.

Online therapy FAQ

A few of the questions we hear most often about getting started with telehealth.

Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?

For most concerns — anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues and more — research shows video-based therapy works about as well as in-office care. What matters most is the fit between you and your therapist, which is exactly what we focus on during matching.

Is online therapy secure and private?

Yes. Sessions run through TherapyPortal’s secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform — not a general video-call app — so your conversations stay private and protected.

Do you accept insurance for online sessions?

Therapy Utah is a private-pay practice; we don’t bill insurance directly for online or in-person sessions. We provide an itemized superbill you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement, and we accept HSA/FSA cards. See our Pricing page for details.

Do I need to be in Utah to do online therapy with you?

Most of our therapists are licensed in Utah, so online sessions generally work best when you’re located in the state — whether that’s Lehi, St. George, Logan, or anywhere in between. Every situation is a little different, so just mention where you’ll be joining sessions from when you reach out, and we’ll help you figure out what’s possible.

What do I need to get started?

Just a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and a private space where you can talk freely for the session.

Can I switch between online and in-office sessions?

Yes. Many clients mix the two depending on their week — meeting online when it’s easier and coming into our Lehi office when they’d rather meet in person.
